Flinders Class of 2025 graduate Natalie Gilmore said, 鈥淢y plans for the future are still undecided, but I am truly grateful that I have so many options. Next year, if I stay in Australia I am planning on studying law and/or engineering in Melbourne or Sydney. I've also recently been accepted into the University of St Andrews in Scotland and have undergone the interview process for the University of Cambridge in England studying English. If I can manage to source a scholarship, attending either university overseas would be a dream come true.

鈥淢y time at Flinders has given me a real passion for learning. Whether it's English, Science or Maths, I am motivated by the challenge of learning new concepts, a mindset I will carry with me throughout my tertiary education and into my future career.

鈥淚 will definitely miss all of my amazing teachers at Flinders. They have been the true pillars of my education, and their unending passion and support is priceless.鈥

Her advice to others during the senior years is to find a balance between study and rest.

鈥淪tudy is so important in Year 12, but I found I performed better when I had the opportunity to clear my head for a while,鈥 Natalie said. 鈥淔or me, co-curricular activities, like music, were the best way to take a break and have fun. Also, my friends and family are my biggest support network, and so it was important to spend time with them too.鈥

At the College鈥檚 2025 Valedictory and Awards Ceremony, Natalie was awarded Academic Excellence and Academic Endeavour Awards along with The Flinders Scholar鈥檚 Award for the Love of Learning.

Natalie is an avid musician. She received private tuition in woodwind at Flinders and played across multiple Flinders bands, including the College Band, Symphony Orchestra and Wind Symphony. Natalie was also the Captain of the French Club and part of the Dramatic Arts at Flinders.

We wish Natalie well on her future path, whether she chooses to study in Australia or the United Kingdom, and look forward to watching her flourish through her love for learning.鈥
